Rue‘s home world, unusually colourful and varied by region.
Details
The Merciless Reach has six major corporeal gods, each ruling their own region; the character of each region reflects its ruling god (e00 01:38:57). The region ruled by the God of Vanity is styled like the Hunger Games — bright colours, extravagant outfits, and buildings more stylized than practical (e00 01:40:06).
Rue‘s home region is ruled by the God of Harmony, a heavily forested, druidic, isolated island, with a deep cultural belief in balance: what you give, you get back — love for love, violence for violence (e00 01:40:06). At least two of the six gods take the form of enormous glass dragons; small glass pseudo-dragons, roughly bird-sized and nearly invisible, live in the region (e00 01:41:08).
The Merciless Reach was generally at peace until a villain recently rose, provoking widespread anger, dissent, and violence, which Rue had been fighting against up until the start of the campaign (e00 01:41:08).
