Beau Monde functions as a second capital of Edyrea, specific to Metamortals (e00 02:07:12). Its residents, called Beaumondians, are roughly tier 6–7 in power, and their loyalties vary widely — to a Transcendent, to the God-Queen or one of her children, to a commercial entity, or as independent mercenaries or do-gooders; not all are ethical people (e00 02:07:12).
Beaumondians wage more or less constant war against Underwriem and The Forgotten Depths, and are broadly seen by the public as superheroes (e00 02:08:18). Guilds are made up of roughly 50% Beaumondians, 30% unaffiliated metamortals or commercial operatives, 15% mortals (mostly administrative, occasionally elite athletes), and 5% Transcendents — some guilds are literally run by a god (e00 02:09:21).
