Ternia has major cities with skyscrapers, buses, and trains, and pop culture closely paralleling ours — light novels, manga, and anime are common media there (e00 01:26). It’s described as similar to Earth but “one or two degrees off” — familiar but not identical, down to the level of favourite cafes and restaurants (e00 01:26). Orrin mentions grocery stores and food recalls, soft serve ice cream, and the trolley problem (e04 00:04, e04 00:16, e04 00:59); it has its own language, in which he signs his name (e04 01:25). It has a United States Postal Service, whose oath is word for word the Oath of Speedy Delivery sworn by followers of the Postmaster in Wriem (e05 00:18, e05 00:18).
Orrin says he died there: everyone was choking and he couldn’t breathe, and running through the streets, about to go unconscious, he was hit by a bus (e04 00:53, e04 00:53, e04 00:53).
