A god whose temple in Wriem delivers mail, depicted as a crazy pigeon lady; its followers swear the Oath of Speedy Delivery (e05 00:16, e05 00:19, e05 00:19).
Details
The Oath of Speedy Delivery is, word for word, the oath of the United States Postal Service on Ternia (“neither snow nor rain…”) (e05 00:18, e05 00:18, e05 00:20). According to Orrin, no one has ever seen the god or its messengers: they are recruited, then blip out, and packages simply disappear from in front of doors (e05 00:16, e05 00:16). The couriers are top tier; you never step in front of one delivering on shift, and they are never late, because they can’t be (e05 00:22, e05 00:22, e05 00:22).
In the temple, mail is dropped on a normal pile; a valkyrie-like messenger with folded wings and a huge sword sits at a desk holding just a few letters (e05 00:19, e05 00:19, e05 00:19). Delivery gets expensive with danger, distance, or time; across town costs one gold (e05 00:21, e05 00:21). Sender and courier seal the job with a forearm grasp, and a package tattoo appears on the back of each one’s hand, fading when the package is delivered (e05 00:22). The messenger told Wisp, who worships no god, that his soul would float endlessly in the overflow of the keeper with no afterlife, and invited him to take the oath (e05 00:25, e05 00:25).
